New from Pantonne, Autumn 2022 Colours
It’s the beginning of October and Autumn is well and truly here. Each season, Pantonne, the colour professionals, suggest new shades and combinations of colours, that dictate through fashion, home decor and all kinds of industries.
As a colour specialist, It’s fun to keep an eye on what they recommend for each season as well as the main colour of the year.
What’s new for Autumn 2022?
Something I’ve always wanted to do…
I would absolutely love the job of making up names for colours, it would be so much fun. Look at the image above and then see the corresponding names below. Some of them make sense, but others not so much. what do you think?

- Samoan Sun
- Caramel Café
- Orange Tiger
- Watersport
- Midnight
- Amazon
- Nosegay
- Rose Violet
So these are the Autumn colours and if you relate them to clothes, which could you see yourself wearing?
If you know your season, and have your colour fan to hand, it should be reasonably easy to work out. Let me take you through each season below:
Autumn
1, 2, 3 and 4 would work really well for an Autumn complexion. I also find that true Autumns, will be instantly drawn to these warm, rich shades.
Winter
6 and 9 would be the best for a Winter complexion, appealing to their love of contrast and vibrancy. Number 7, the icy pink, may also work for a Winter skin.
Spring
2, 3, and 8. Like Autumns, Springs suit warm tones and many colours will cross over. However, Springs look glowing in warm shades that are clearer and brighter than the warm rich based colours of an autumn.
Summer
7 and 5 are the obvious choices for a Summer – the other cool skin tone. Some Summers, would also cope with 6 and 9 in small amounts, so as not to overwhelm a delicate Summer skin.
