Have you thought about adding  New Year Wardrobe Resolutions to your list?

It’s that time again when, perhaps you set some intentions around new habits.  Things that you want to achieve in the coming year.

In 2022, did you find yourself ever opening your wardrobe and thinking “I’ve nothing to wear?” And then adding random items without much planning?

This time of year can be great for taking stock of your clothes.  With sustainability in mind, we all want to make the most of what we have and avoid adding unnecessary or impulse buys that just add to the bulk. Adding to the volume rather than overall usefulness.

2023 could be your Best Wardrobe Year Yet!

Why not set aside some time this month to really think about what you want from your wardrobe?

Maybe add a new year wardrobe resolution and start this year with a balanced, organised wardrobe that really works for you and your lifestyle.

Follow my tips below to get started.

First, grab a notebook and pen, or open a new ‘notes’ page on your phone and make a list of all the different activities that make up your life. Here are some of mine to get you started…

*Working online

*Working with clients

*Networking

*Yoga

*Going out ‘casual’

*Going out ’dressy’

*Relaxing at home

*Holiday

Next, work out, on average how much of your life is spent in each of these areas in a typical month.

Now go to your wardrobe and consider the items you have that fit each of your categories.

Is the balance right?

For example, I spend the majority of my working day working on my computer.  Either with clients, networking or marketing activities.  I need to look put together and smart when I’m networking or online with clients, but I want to be comfortable and relaxed for the time I’m spending marketing.

This means I need a good variety of tops and jumpers in flattering shades and shapes and at this time of year, warm, comfortable trousers and joggers.

When I’m face to face with clients, in person networking, or giving a talk, I can use the same tops but smarten up the bottoms.  Change my footwear, add a bag and coat or jacket.

Making sure you have the right amount of clothes for each of your activities, is crucial to having a balanced wardrobe.

Make 2023 your best wardrobe year yet, by only having the right items that fit your lifestyle, your personality and your body.
