I felt fabulous on my recent trip to Bali (in my bikini)
I’ve just returned from a most magical Yoga Retreat in Bali. As you can imagine, I spent most of the time wearing very little as it was so hot.
I have a healthy lifestyle, I eat well, I exercise and I have (mostly) low stress these days. However, I decided that I would put in a little extra effort to look and feel great for my holiday. Mainly because it’s a few years since I’ve done a long haul flight and I wanted to be as healthy as possible.
I did feel amazing on my trip and a friend suggested that I share with you, what I did to prepare.
So here is what I did…
1. Intermittent Fasting
Starting about 4 weeks before, I cut my snacking and did some basic intermittent fasting, a few days a week. Aiming for 16:8. Often getting quite close by having dinner slightly earlier and breakfast later. I’ve always been a breakfast person and was pleasantly surprised that when I didn’t have my smoothie within 30 mins of waking up, I didn’t die!!
2. Less Carbs
Now I definitely don’t agree with cutting any food groups completely, but I did find that by reducing my brown rice, quinoa, sour dough bread etc. I did feel food.
3. Green Gut Glow
This is an amazing drink from my favourite brand, Arbonne. I’ve been using all 3 products separately for ages, but hadn’t put them all together before. The green is a powder made of 32 concentrated fruits and vegetables. The gut is a blend of pre and probiotics and digestive enzymes. Finally, the glow is a collagen builder to support skin, hair, muscles and joints.
Synergistically the three things together have the most amazing effect on energy, bloating and general wellbeing.
4. Weight Training
I always do several yoga and pilates sessions a week, but I have learned just how important it is to add weights to our exercise routines. The older we get, the more important it is!
I got myself a set of 5 and 10lb weights from TKMax and followed sessions like this one YouTube see here.
So that’s what I did for about 4 weeks prior to me going. Nothing too strict, or hard, but enough to feel fabulous in a bikini, for the first time in years.
Good enough to pose on the edge of this fabulous infinity pool (my calendar girl impression)

If I can help with more information about any of the above, do get in touch.
Wishing you a healthy, happy two weeks before I see you again.
