What fun we had filming a Colour Analysis
In some ways, this was the hardest one of the 3 to film (have you seen the others?) In real life, when I am trying to establish what a clients’ very best colours are, often it can be a very small difference between something that looks really, really fab and something that looks a bit drab or wrong.
Picking this up on camera is tricky, which is why we decided to have a short clip of the process, then each of the models showing good and not so good colours (no colours are bad!)

The 4 Basic Steps of Colour Analysis
- We first establish the dominance of warmth or coolness in the skin.
- Next is ‘The draping.’ We hold different colour material, right up to the face and decide together, which ones make the skin look it’s healthiest, glowing and bright.
- We decide which of the seasonal swatch fans will be the most compatible and useful. Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. Or a combination.
- We look at whether the client suits tonal or contrasting shades best.
