Redefining Style in Your 50s and 60s and getting your Mojo back

Julie’s Story

As she approached her 60s, Julie knew that she wanted to embrace a decade filled with self-discovery and reinvention. She had a vision of stepping into her best life, radiating confidence and vibrancy. However, she knew there were some hurdles to overcome and some preconceptions to banish!

Julie, wanted to reclaim her style and write the next chapter in her journey. This is when she stumbled across the unique ‘Celebrate Your Style Programme’ and started to explore…

Time for Reinvention

Julie stood in front of the mirror and realised that she had developed some rather bad habits! She often found herself bemoaning the fact that her body wasn’t the same as it used to be. However hard she tried to eat well and exercise regularly, she still had lumps and bumps that seemed to have crept up since the menopause.

She had also got into the habit of reaching for the same items of clothing that hid the lumps and bumps, but left her feeling drab and uninspired. Realising she was always settling for just looking OK.

When, what she really wanted, was to look stylish, put together and relevant. Can you relate?

Breaking the Chains of Invisibility

There were moments when Julie felt invisible, especially when surrounded by her daughters and their friends, as well as in work meetings with younger colleagues. Since reaching mid 50’s, she had started to doubt her wisdom and strength. Started to believe that she couldn’t keep up. Did she even want to keep up? What she needed, was to find a way of outwardly projecting that wisdom and strength, to give her the confidence boost she was looking for.

“Maybe if I change what I wear, it will help me to project how I want to be? Not to compete, but to stand strong in my own lane”

It was time for Julie to emerge from the shadows and challenge preconceived notions about age and visibility.

Rediscovering Your Mojo

Lost mojo is not an irreversible fate, Julie just needed to shake off the misconception that focusing on attractiveness was inappropriate in her 50s. Embracing the thoughts that style is not just about appearance; it’s also about reclaiming energy and enthusiasm

Society expected Julie to slow down, but she knew that there were many exciting adventures to be had and she just knew she wanted to shake off her drab exterior, stop settling for ‘just OK’ and burst into her 60’s with a newfound style. Not a complete re-invention, but a shiny new, polished version of who she is.
